Description: Our Client, one of the leading metals engineering and manufacturing companies, is looking to hire an Injection Molding and Assembly Engineer (Wax Process Owner) in LaPorte, IN.


• Monitor key variables of the manufacturing subprocesses (e.g. injection molding, wax pattern assembly and pattern visual inspection) to determine process stability;
• Drive process stability and improvements through structured Process Management and by promoting best practice methodologies and new technologies;
• Perform / lead and report on monthly process reviews;
• Ensure the timely and effective resolution of issues resulting from internal, peer, and external audits;
• Assume responsibility for integrity of assigned process requirements;
• Interact with internal and external customers to understand technical requirements and resolve issues;
• Determine of the root cause of any deviation from critical process specifications and provide technical support to Process and Product Engineering to resolve wax process related issues;
• Contribute to Business Unit new technology adaptation and validation efforts;
• Report the critical process status on daily and monthly basis to plant management and the Business Unit Wax Process Owner;
• Support location Production Control Manager and Supplier Quality Engineer in regard to wax outsource vendors;
• Control and approve of all generic Wax process Work Instructions (i.e. Activity Instructions);
• Responsible for daily interface and communication of issues with manufacturing, maintenance, facilities personnel responsible for the Wax equipment areas;
• Responsible for understanding downstream product quality as it relates to the wax process and react appropriately to observed conditions;
• Institute proper project monitoring, follow up and feedback system to ensure financial and contract targets are met;
• Foster continuous improvement utilizing process management, designed experiments, Six Sigma, and statistical process control;
• As a recognized expert in the wax process technology area, provide technical guidance to management and peers in areas of current or potential needs of the plant.


• Experience as an Injection Molding and Assembly Engineer (Wax Process Owner) (1+ years);
• Experience in plastics injection molding (including common industry certifications), assembly, and/or decorating (preferred);
• Experience in tooling use or design (preferred);
• Experience in investment casting (preferred);
• Six Sigma green belt and/or black belt (preferred);
• Bachelor's degree in Plastics Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering (preferred).
