Description: Our Client, a manufacturer of integrated circuits (ICs) for audio and voice signal processing applications, is looking to hire an Acoustic Systems Engineer in Austin, TX.

Responsibilities:

• Tune complex digital signal processing systems for consumer products;
• Perform experiments in an anechoic chamber or listening room, judge sound quality, use high quality audio interfaces with head and torso simulators;
• Utilize custom MATLAB data acquisition software with FPGA or customer development boards connected to prototype acoustic devices.

Requirements:

• Experience in MATLAB programming and data acquisition (5-7+ years);
• Experience with digital filter design and related signal processing techniques (5-7+ years);
• Strong hands-on experience conducting audio and acoustic measurement and analysis (5-7+ years);
• Experience in noise suppression, echo and noise cancellation, and/or beam forming (preferred);
• Experience with FPGA simulation and test (preferred);
• Experience with the silicon development cycle (preferred);
• Experience in adaptive filter design (preferred);
• Experience in mixed-signal audio: product design, microphone, speakers, audio IC (preferred);
• Basic board level test and debugging (preferred);
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar and 3+ years of experience in digital audio signal processing and/or acoustics development for voice and audio applications (required);
• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Acoustics or similar (preferred).
