Description: Our Client, a global leader in plastic packaging solutions, is looking to hire a Senior Process Engineer in Chicago, IL.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for developing all aspects of the plastic package from concept to implementation( preform design, developing the process, closure to meet the application requirements);
• Understand, follow and enforce all established safety, health, quality GMP and Company policies, procedures and recognized practices;
• Understand, follow and enforce all established policies, procedures and recognized practices;
• Design PET Preform and Container to meet application requirements;
• Develop process to meet performance requirements, including barrier;
• Review product failure data and interpret laboratory tests and analyzes results to establish or rule out material and process causes;
• Coordinate customer sample requirements;
• Evaluate and approve process changes and controls expenditures within limitations of R&D budget;
• Prepare interim and completion project reports;
• Develop and Implement Process Training for plant personnel responsible for operating and maintaining equipment;
• Coordinate activities with cross functional teams concerned with technical developments, scheduling and resolving engineering design and test problems;
• Update project team members using related software tools;
• Evaluate and approve design changes, specifications and drawing releases;
• Stay close to market trends recommending attainable technical solutions for potential conversion opportunities by keeping a pulse on the market.

Requirements:

• Process Engineering experience (8+ years);
• Polymer experience (required);
• Injection Molding IMM manufacturing platform experience;
• Experience with molding components and injection tooling;
• Filling and Capper experience;
• Statistical Process Control (SPC) experience;
• Experience with one or more of the following systems: Complex Mechanical System Electrical / Controls Fluid Powered Hydraulic Systems w/ Servo and Proportional Valve ControlMelt Flow / Hot-Runner Management;
• Two-step & Single-step PET process experience (preferred);
• 2D / 3D design experience (preferred);
• BS in Chemical Engineering or related plastics degree or equivalent experience (required).
