Description: Our Client, a medical technology company, is looking for a Senior Molding Development Engineer in Sandy, UT.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, design and coordinate the development and implementation of molds and related quality / engineering activities in any of the plants to support new product development projects through manufacturing scale-up, as well as existing production;
• Provide tooling development support to new product development and technology teams;
• Coordinate and carry out qualification and validation activities for new products, processes, changes and transfers as required;
• Focus on specific technical projects in R&D, MTI, molding or other engineering disciplines assigned by Manager;
• Coordinate and communicate assigned projects with the appropriate personnel and departments;
• Ensure that materials chosen for parts are economical and appropriate;
• Write capital expenditure requests for equipment and molds, as needed. Prepare and manage the budget for molding projects;
• Install new equipment and molds to support new product development, existing molding / manufacturing process changes, replication or scale-up;
• Initiate cost saving opportunities, perform CIP projects, and quality fix projects as assigned by Manager;
• Supervise technicians as required, to complete assigned projects.

Requirements:

• Experience with LSR molding and tooling;
• Experience (depending on education level) in various engineering fields relating to mold design and manufacture, molding, quality control and process development (4-6 years);
• Experience with Molding Analysis software, Solid Works, CAM software, Visio, Microsoft Office and MS Project;
• Experience in mold design, mold making and mold simulation;
• Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification (preferred);
• M.S. degree in an engineering field (Plastics, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering degree preferred) plus 4 years of related technical experience or B.S. degree in an engineering field (Plastics, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering degree preferred) plus 6 years of related technical experience.
