Description: Our Client, a savings and loan association, is looking to hire a Project Manager in Melville, NY.

Responsibilities:

• Work with various business units to assist with definition of requirements;
• Coordinate project scope and execution as a leader of a cross-functional, multidisciplinary team;
• Follow through on procedures for project reporting and documentation to keep management informed of project status and related issues;
• Manage issues and follows appropriate escalation procedures to ensure management awareness of problems that are severe in nature or exceeding documented targets;
• Recommend the resources, skill and training needs for the project team members;
• Coordinate and communicate the expectations, assignments, status and plan with the project team;
• Proactively identify and plan for potential risk, builds contingency plans, and takes action to mitigate risks;
• Act in an advisory capacity in solution design to ensure high quality deliverables;
• Ensure project participants maintain focus, motivation and execution;
• Manage external vendors through the project process to ensure agreement deliverables are met;
• Deliver projects according to agreed specifications and deadlines;
• Maintain active and effective relationships with business users and technology resources;
• Ensure proper transition of the new solution or service to business users and IT application support.

Requirements:

• Experience in project management with a focus on complex, multi-department implementations (5+ years);
• Experience as a Business Analyst preferred (3+ years);
• Experience working on projects related to electronic banking commercial cash management systems (strongly preferred);
• Experience working on projects related to payment systems such as wires and ACH processing (strongly preferred);
• Experience working on projects related to anti-money laundering systems (AML) (strongly preferred);
• Experience managing projects in multiple phases of the project lifecycle using Waterfall and Agile methodology;
• Experience with complex IT systems with significant levels of integration and interdependence;
• Experience in MS Office Visio and workflow or data flow diagramming tools;
• Understanding of project management concepts and methodologies;
• Understanding of software development lifecycles and methodologies;
• Understanding of commercial banking regulations;
• A four-year degree or comparable experience in Information Systems, Computer Science and/or Engineering with the appropriate emphasis in Project Management.
