Description: Our Client, a manufacturer of agricultural, construction, and forestry machinery, is looking to hire a Senior Data Scientist in Moline, IL.

Responsibilities:

• Work as a member of an Analytics Project Team within the Enterprise Analytics Accelerator (EAA) to generate high-value business insights on transformational, analytical projects;
• Act as lead Data Scientist for assigned projects within the EAA and consult on others;
• Work with multiple large, complex, diverse data sets and perform appropriate analytical methodology to provide insights and decision modeling for the specified Accelerator projects;
• Create and implement algorithms which manage the data to enable it to be analyzed in an efficient manner and to enable analytical repeatability;
• Lead the identification of the required data sources and work with the EAA Data Wrangler to implement methodologies to retrieve and use this data;
• Lead the communication of derived insights in such a manner easily understandable by business partners, especially through appropriate visualization techniques. Explain implementation and usage in business terms;
• Proactively stay up-to-date with the latest appropriate analytical techniques and recommend these where needed, especially from academia;
• Work closely with the Data Infrastructure teams to ensure data is stored efficiently and in such a way to facilitate the required analytics;
• Proactively apply analytical techniques to prospect for business insights and find patterns in data which could be valuable for the business;
• Play a lead role in advancing the business transformation of the Enterprise through analytics, for example through discussions with the Analytics Leadership Team (ALT).

Requirements:

• Experience with current analytical platforms with the ability to utilize these fully independently;
• Experience applying statistical analyses and analytical methodologies on advanced analytics projects (5+ years);
• Experience with development of algorithms and predictive models to solve business issues;
• Experience working on cross-functional projects (2+ years);
• Experience with various business processes currently utilized in a Manufacturing Enterprise environment;
• Experience with SQL, SAS, R, Python;
• Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams across various Business Units, geographies and cultures (preferred);
• Experience with external publications in the field of data and analytics (preferred);
• Experience leading multi-functional project teams, especially following the Agile methodology (preferred);
• Experience telling a clear business story from the analytics (preferred);
• Experience with Machine Learning (preferred);
• Advanced degree in a relevant study area (e.g. mathematics, statistics, advanced analytics) (preferred).
