Description: Our Client, a government agency, is looking to hire a Network Planner in Pompano Beach, FL.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze and manage physical and logical resources of existing network capacity and incorporate high-level and/or detailed forecasts into meaningful network build plans;
• Manage, plan, and optimize company assets within designated planning areas;
• Develop and implement planning decisions that will impact customer service;
• Develop initiatives, quantify impact, and provide input on network architectural plans & budgets;
• Formulate budget inputs and projections according to the business plan;
• Work cross-functionally with the systems, project management, and network infrastructure;
• Act as a networking expert and resource for peers and management;
• Prepare charts and reports on system usage, system capacity, system quality, and system performance;
• Recommend appropriate courses of action to management on deployment and performance issues;
• Ensure quality of deliverables;
• Refine / evolve operation standards, processes, and procedures;
• Apply application performance monitoring technology to improve reliability and productivity;
• Participate in testing and documenting;
• Assist in developing communication strategies, documents, and standards for the Enterprise.

Requirements:

• Experience with Network protocols (Ethernet, TCP/IP, SNMP, VLAN Trunking);
• Experience with Routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, RIP, VRRP, GLBP, HSRP);
• Experience with Network technologies, and LAN technologies (STP, ARP);
• Experience with QoS, and policy-based routing with Cisco and Brocade equipment;
• Knowledge of Network Performance Management systems including network & application traffic capture probes and operational tools such as Wireshark and Solarwinds;
• Experience with business group development, setting alarm conditions and notifications, reporting, customizing dashboards;
• Experience with development of dashboard, running analysis, configuring event alarms and notifications, reporting;
• Experience auditing 3000+ node networks;
• Experience automating scheduled tasks such as network standards and PCI compliance and network drawings;
• Experience building and running flow analyses and DES simulation;
• Experience troubleshooting network and application performance issues;
• Experience identifying problem areas, and reporting;
• Experience importing network objects via automation tools and manual imports;
• Experience troubleshooting and optimizing database;
• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) (preferred);
• B.S. with 5+ years of Networking experience.
