Description: Our Client, a commodities trading company, is looking to hire a Facility FSQR Manager in Newark, CA.


• Lead food safety and quality activities at a location with moderate FSQR complexity and risk;
• Assure that all final product shipments meet or exceed customer requirements;
• Maintain and continuously improving the site food safety culture as well as the FSQR management systems (incl. methods, procedures, maintenance, calibration, cross-checks, training, auditing, raw materials verification, purchasing);
• Provide overall leadership for our performance management process and the coordination of hiring, coaching and developing talent at the local site;
• Assist in the design and facilitation of training programs to ensure the FSQR team has sufficient knowledge of facility operations, and quality management systems to enable adequate operations and commercial support;
• Lead talent management of employees in FSQR, accountable for selection, training, development performance management and engagement for direct and indirect reports, develop / implement short range (tactical) FSQR plans in alignment with Business and local plans;
• Participate in development of FSQR initiatives and budgets;
• Represent FSQR as part of location management team, act as liaison between customer and operations to ensure standard / expectations are met, build and develop effective engaged FSQR workforce, lead implementation of BU FSQR strategy / tactical plans;
• Develop, implement and assess process / systems – plan and direct all FSQR programs and management of change, implement product specification systems, drive continuous improvement, provide input to location leaders related to base / non-base capital needs to maintain food safety leadership position in one or more locations.


• Experience in Quality, Food Safety (FSQR) (5+ years);
• Supervisory experience (5+ years);
• Project management experience;
• Plant Manufacturing Knowledge;
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes & operations;
• HAACP knowledge / implementation – applies HAACP to identify & control food safety hazards;
• Knowledge of Food Laws & Regulations;
• Knowledge of Quality Standards & Quality Tools;
• Bachelor’s degree in Science field (Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology, etc.)
