Description: Our Client, one of the leading aerospace companies, is looking to hire a Senior Buyer in Troy, OH.

Responsibilities:

• Manage Purchasing cycle including review and release of requisitions, PO creation, PO follow up and Supplier Performance;
• Ensure uninterrupted flow of material to support manufacturing and customer OTD;
• Capable of determining purchased part inventory management strategies and objectives;
• Ensure inventory goals and objectives are met as well as identify inventory improvement opportunities, develop plan and execute;
• Develop a plan and execute inventory improvement programs to include but not limited to calculating inventory required to restock products or parts with various inventory models(visual view, VMI/two-bin, periodic, reorder point, just in time and Kanban);
• Manage surplus and obsolete inventories;
• Negotiate with suppliers as required for reschedules in support of inventory and business objectives;
• Provide input into Supplier selection based on product type, quality and delivery requirements;
• Identify risks that affect supply and delivery in support of shop floor requirements and customer on time delivery;
• Support and or lead preparation for Supply Chain Sales, Inventory and Planning (SIOP) process.

Requirements:

• Procurement experience (5+ years);
• Experience using ERP and/or MRP systems;
• American Purchasing Society Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) (preferred);
• APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) (preferred);
• APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) (preferred);
• Bachelor's degree.
