Description: Our Client, one of the largest amusement-resort operators in the world, is looking for a Compensation Manager in Sandusky, OH.


• Evaluate effectiveness of internal pay practices and conduct market research to create pay programs and provide compensation data analysis to facilitate management decision making;
• Review pay offers for external and internal candidates based on qualifications, external market, and internal equity considerations;
• Responsible for the organization’s job database. Partner with business unit HR teams and management to develop, revise, and audit job descriptions for content. Conduct audits to ensure consistent, quality and legally compliance;
• Analyze job content and related market data to provide recommendations for grading jobs;
• Consult and collaborate with leadership and HR partners to identify and address issues related to compensation to support recognition / retention plans, etc.;
• Assist with organizational restructures. Evaluate job content, determines appropriate pay grades and recommend pay adjustments based on scope of jobs, external pay pressures and internal comparisons;
• Work with Director and HR management to streamline pay delivery systems utilizing Excel, databases, the HRIS, etc. Create tools to analyze data and prepare recommendations to submit to senior management for review and approval;
• Maintain knowledge of current state and federal regulations or legislation that impacts pay practices. Make recommendations to maintain compliance and impact on business.


• Experience as a Compensation Manager (5-7 years);
• Experience developing and administering compensation programs (4-5+ years);
• Experience developing, implementing and administering comp programs including surveys, pay structures, adjustments, merit and incentive planning (5+ years);
• Experience with Excel to analyze data and manage pay delivery (v-lookups, micros, macros, formulas pivot tables, etc.);
• Experience with HRIS systems;
• Experience with incentive pay programs and preparing recommendations and statistical reports for presentation to management;
• Experience with market pricing and comp structure design;
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration or equivalent work experience.
