Description: Our Client, a global leader in the metals recycling industry, is looking for a Senior Regional Health & Safety Manager in Warwick, RI.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate overall regional safety and health management system programs;
• Implement processes and training necessary to meet all legal / governmental requirements;
• Assist operations in driving continuous improvements and compliance, making recommendations for improvements and providing risk assessments to managers and leaders of business operations;
• Achieve accident prevention goals set by the MRB Health and Safety Director;
• Work closely with operations to understand industry specific equipment and associated health and safety risks;
• Produce and maintain company safety compliance calendar with timely submittals of permitapplications and fees and regulatory reports and plans (e.g. HMBP/HMIS and OSHA logs or equivalent);
• Manage safety related vendor contracts and budgets (e.g., safety equipment providers, consultants, etc);
• Support the Company’s Internal Control process which includes understanding, communicating, and complying with defined internal controls as well as suggesting and making modifications to the policies, procedures, and controls to better relate to the business;
• Supervise appropriate Health and Safety team members.

Requirements:

• Health & Safety experience (10+ years);
• Heavy Industrial Experience (required);
• Industrial Hygiene experience;
• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment;
• Experience leading and developing a team of Health & Safety Professionals;
• Experience developing and implementing Safety Programs;
• Experience providing safety leadership and guidance to multiple locations in partnership with management;
• Experience enhancing safety culture, awareness, education and training;
• Experience with local, state, and federal Health and Safety laws and other government compliance regulations;
• Experience balancing business needs and Health & Safety requirements in a cost-effective manner;
• Experience collecting, managing, and analyzing various data and trends in Health & Safety behavior and compliance;
• Experience making recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues by using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, and/or government law;
• Experience with Microsoft Office;
• Valid driver’s license and the ability to drive an automobile;
• Bachelor’s degree (required).
