Description: Our Client, one of the largest pulp and paper companies in the world, is looking to hire a Plant Superintendent to work in Byesville, OH.

Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership for the successful operation of the manufacturing plant including; production, quality, maintenance and shipping;
• Establish and review production schedules for all manufacturing departments to ensure orders are filled on time while operating at the highest efficiency possible;
• Monitor processes, operational expenses and drive ways to cut costs pertaining to waste, improving production efficiencies and enhancing productivity while maintaining product quality;
• Management of the EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) program for the facility.  This will include developing and improving safety systems including communications, training, recognition, safety audits and behavioral based safety practices focusing on the safety leading indicators;
• Managing Safety Initiatives: Hazard Recognition, Life Potential Identification, Safe Work Observations, SWO Employee Engagement;
• Proactively address safety related issues ensuring immediate attention is given to any injuries in the workplace;
• Work with operating teams to understand and improve manufacturing systems;
• Emphasize the use of manufacturing reliability tools to improve operational efficiencies;
• Ensure compliance with corporate quality systems and provides follow-up on quality issues;
• Reduce performance gaps in safety, productivity, efficiency, and other operational elements at the facility;
• Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring to employees;
• Active engagement and involvement in related / support functions that impact manufacturing including but not limited to:  production planning, scheduling, purchasing, shipping, and inventory management.

Requirements:

• Experience in paper / corrugated packaging manufacturing industry (3+ years);
• Functional / technical experience;
• Experience directing and motivating others, and building effective teams;
• Experience in process management, strategic agility;
• Experience in a leadership position, relationship and influence skills, and the ability to deliver results;
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
